So a couple of weeks back Lauren and I decided to cross something off of our bucket list...Surfing. With the help of our friendly make-shift surf instructor's, Will and Brian, Lauren and I were able to surf and even catch some waves. Hanging ten was not without its' casualties however. Our buddy Keith shredded a bit too hard and had a serious wipe-out on one of Ocean City's notorious ten foot swells resulting in a dislocated shoulder. Fortunately we strategically located our surf spot next to the local urgent care and Keith was cured quickly. To celebrate catching our first tube as well as to drown the pain of a dislocated shoulder we hit up the equally strategically located pool bar and recounted surf stories while tossing back some $1.50 Pabst Blue Ribbons (The official beer of surfers who crush ten foot waves). All in all a great first surfing experience and by no means our last. Till next time hang loose, shred the gnar, cowabunga and whatever other surfer slang I missed.
